Planting roses
Many weeks ago I bought some new roses for the balcony, and they have just been there at the floor in big old oil cans. To get them out from the cans and into my new pots was just to much for me! They were stuck into the clay and I figured out that I had to cut the cans to get them out.
I asked our "boab" Sayed for help and he came up and he did it very nicely. I could see that he had been planting before!

New flowers to the balcony
I decided that the balcony needed more flowers so I went by car on to the road to Jerash where there are a lots of open air flower shops.
And yes, I was driving all by myself!!!!

Black Iris
The black iris is Jordan’s national flower and it will bloom in April. It’s very unusual and rare and not many people have seen it in real. But you can find it in paintings or as here as a sculpture. The colour is not really black more very dark purple they say. You can also find lighter shades.
My quilting group is going to make a quilt with black iris on. We are going to sell it in a big bazaar in the beginning of May. The money they get from the bazaar will go to rebuild Gaza.
We are trying to find patterns that will look like an iris and we have found many to choose between.
Some of the women dye the fabrics by themselves. And the colours turns out to be very nice and in many shades.

Our Christmas tree
I found our small Christmas decoration things from Egypt. They are made of camel boons and are very charming. You can hardly see that the angel is an angel! Together with some red ribbons it looks rather Christmas like.
I made coffee to Bo 4.30 this morning because he went to Beirut with the first morning flight. Well, I went back to bed for a couple of hours ….Hope he could sleep some minutes on the plane.Right now Johan is on a plane back from Brazil, Peter on a plane (or train?) to Stockholm, Fredrik on his bike back from work.
I’m looking forward to Christmas and the time when we are all together again!

Can’t find any “Julstjärnor” so instead I look at my Christmas red geranium.

Flowers
I haven’t bought many flowers since we moved to Jordan. But yesterday I strongly felt it was time for it.
Today I have made some preparation for Christmas. I have been wrapping gifts. It looks like I have made it easy for myself and bought the same gift to my fourteen friends! But that’s not the whole truth.
I’m doing it for Bo (and for his fourteen friends!).
You can see a small flash of what’s inside in the front. If you can guess what it is you will get that one for Christmas because we have one left over. Först till kvarn …..
